Day at Flamingo

The Aquarium of Playa Blanca. The dive takes place just behind the breakwater of Playa Flamingo, home to a great variety of fish. It’s easy to spot large schools of roncadores, salemas, herreras, bogas, güeldes, and more along the wall. The diversity of fish here creates a rich food chain, often including different species of tuna. You’ll also find trumpetfish among the rocks and angel sharks all along the wall, making it one of the easiest dive spots to encounter these remarkable creatures. 

It’s a spectacular dive you can enjoy without being a certified diver.

During the first session of the course, guided by one of our instructors, you’ll learn the basic concepts of diving, understand how to use the equipment, and enter the water for a shore-entry dive baptism, where you’ll practice various diving skills to build confidence underwater. During this first dive, you’ll have the chance to see schools of fish and other marine life while honing your buoyancy skills.

After a break to rest, followed by a dive briefing and equipment preparation, you’ll board one of our boats with your instructor for a short 10-minute journey to the dive site: Flamingo.
Once the dive is completed after 45 minutes underwater, you’ll return to the dive center.

At the end of the day, you’ll receive your SSI Basic Diver certification in digital format. This temporary certification allows you to dive under similar conditions to those of your training, with a maximum depth of 12 meters, under the direct supervision of a professional diver. The certification is valid for 6 months, during which you can also apply your experience toward becoming an Open Water Diver and receive a discount on the course price.
