The Atlantic Museum of Lanzarote was developed by the British artist Jason de Caires Taylor and was born as a project for the conservation and protection of marine fauna and flora in the area.
The museum consists of 300 statues at a depth of just 12 meters, which make up an artificial reef where various species from the Atlantic have found refuge.
It is a very special and unique dive that you can do without having to be a certified diver.
During the morning, you will learn the basic concepts of diving from one of our highly trained Instructors and you will understand the use of the equipment by completing a shallow water skill session, where you will learn different diving skills in order to gain confidence underwater. You will then make your first, where you will have the opportunity to see schools of fish including Barracuda, and lots more marine life whilst you practice your buoyancy.
After a lunch break, we meet again at the diving center at 2:30 p.m. After the briefing and preparation, you will board one of our boats, and the same instructor you had in the morning will take you to the Atlantic Museum.
The journey to the dive site will take a maximum of 10 minutes, during which you will enjoy the views of Lanzarote from the sea.
After doing a nice dive of about 45 minutes, you will return to the diving center.
At the end of the day you will receive your SSI Basic Diver certification. This temporary certification will allow you to dive in conditions similar to those of your training with a maximum depth of 12 meters, under the direct supervision of a professional diver. The certification is valid for 6 months during which you can also validate your experience and become an Open Water Diver with a discount on the price of the course.
