The ANDI L3 Technical Sidemount course is the next step in your sidemount technical diving career. The key progressions here are the introduction of longer decompression stops into the dive profile and a third gas cylinder. With longer decompression times, dive planning, gas management and handling are vitally important. As part of the course you will also learn how to manage your gases in situations of limited visibility and blackout. These conditions simulate what can occur in a cave or wreck where there is no direct light.
The course consists of 8 open water dives. These dives will gradually introduce greater task loading and greater depths. The maximum certification depth is 50 metres using 3 cylinders and two gases. As part of the course decompression will be introduced to a maximum decompression time of 30 minutes. One or more of the gases used on the course may be Enriched Air Nitrox so the relevant qualification is one of the course prerequisites.
- The ANDI L3 Technical Sidemount course costs 1250€ and consists of 8 open water dives. The course can be completed in 4 days and is open to level 2 and 3 sidemount divers with at least 50 logged dives on sidemount.
